<p> the founder of Grupo Bimbo <strong></strong> <strong> Lorenzo Servitje, </strong> has <strong> dead at age 98 </strong> in the city of Mexico, according to Mexican multinational has confirmed in a statement. </p>
<p> the Group has expressed in a statement his “great sadness” at the death of Servitje and highlighted its “deep appreciation for his legacy”. “On behalf of the entire group, we want to extend our condolences to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends,” reads the statement. </p>
<p> <strong> Servitje, of Spanish father, </strong> <strong> Bimbo bakery founded in 1945 </strong> along with Jaime Jorba, Jaime Sendra, Alfonso Velasco and José T. Mata, and became the first Manager of the company from 1945 to 1963, as well as being director and President of Grupo Bimbo from 1936 to 1981, dedicated since then and until 1994 to continue his work as Chairman of the Board of Directors. </p>
<p> the Mexican multinational is present today in 22 countries of America, Europe and Asia, with a small presence in China and <strong> in 2011 acquired Bimbo Iberia. </strong> also boasts more than 129.000 collaborators, 167 production plants and almost 1,700 retail centers located strategically. </p>
